About Tiny Tutus
Welcome to Tiny Tutus, my lovely haven for the tiniest dancers, where I have the privileged position of introducing toddlers and preschoolers to the joy of ballet and classical movement. I have been teaching preschool ballet for almost twenty years, having obtained my teaching qualifications with the ISTD in 2007.
I started my teaching career later than most, but spent all my youth taking ballet classes, as a Junior Associate at the Royal Ballet School, and then as a boarder at the junior Royal Ballet School, White Lodge, in Richmond Park. I was also a Cecchetti Scholar and a member of London Junior Ballet, and have been taught by some inspirational teachers, including Mary Goodhew, Cara Drower, Patricia Linton and Elisabeth Swan.
Having realised that I would most likely not become the next Darcey Bussell (as was my sole objective), I decided to follow a more realistic career path, heading to university to study English Literature, and subsequently becoming a proofreader and copywriter. But ballet always beckoned, and teaching the littlest students to dance has provided me with the most wonderful creative outlet.
In addition to running Tiny Tutus, I also teach ballet for the lovely D2 Dance Academy in Hildenborough, and many of my Tiny Tutus students continue learning with me at D2 long after they have started school. Some of my first Hildenborough Tiny Tutus students are now en pointe and studying at ISTD Grade 6 level, which provides me with a huge amount of joy.
My mission is to foster a love of dance in your little ones, through inspiring music and creative lessons.
A creative education has the power to catapult children into a lifetime of curiosity.
